Description
This mechanical ventilation simulator shows pressure, flow and volume waveforms on a ventilator-style screen, so you can practise reading the graphs and making ventilator decisions as often as you need.

- Diagnosis challenge: read the waveforms, name the diagnosis and get an explanation of why you were right or wrong
- Free lab with eight lung conditions, including normal lungs, asthma, ARDS, COPD, pneumonia or oedema, a blocked tube, pneumothorax and flow starvation
- Six guided cases with tasks, from normal lungs and blood gases to hyperinflation, ARDS, a sudden alarm and weaning
- Volume control and pressure control, with inspiratory and expiratory hold manoeuvres
- Live equations, including driving pressure, compliance, resistance, time constant, auto-PEEP, mechanical power, P/F ratio and the rapid shallow breathing index
- Blood gas, patient monitor and lung-protective checks that respond to your settings
How it works
The simulator runs in your web browser. Choose a case or a lung condition, change the ventilator settings and watch the waveforms, numbers and equations respond.
