Frequently asked questions
How is my score worked out?
You earn 10 points the first time you choose the correct action for each of the 12 scenarios that have a problem. A wrong choice costs nothing, so you can try again.
What happens when I choose the right action?
The fault is fixed and the traces recover, so you can see what the correct treatment does. Press Reset to run the same scenario again.
What do the three traces show?
The top trace is the ECG, the middle is the arterial pressure with the balloon’s effect on it, and the bottom is when the balloon inflates and deflates.
Is this for patient care?
No. The traces and numbers are a simplified teaching model for education only, not for clinical decision making. Always follow your local IABP protocol.
