Lung Ultrasound in Acute Settings
A hands-on lung ultrasound course for clinicians working in acute care, taking you from the foundations to advanced applications in a single day.
The course is designed for doctors in Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, Intensive Care and Respiratory Medicine, as well as Advanced Clinical Practitioners and senior trainees.
It is run by Saving Lives Academy with Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust and SONIC POCUS at King’s Mill Hospital Education Centre, Sutton-in-Ashfield, with a faculty that includes Prof. Daniel Lichtenstein, President of CEURF, and Dr Silvia Mongodi, founder member of GRIP.
Unlike an online-only course, most of the day is spent scanning: small-group, supervised bedside scanning on real patients during ward rounds in the Emergency Department and Acute Medical Wards, with a high trainer-to-candidate ratio. Places are limited, so early registration is recommended.

Master Point-of-Care Lung Ultrasound in Acute Care
The Lung Ultrasound in Acute Settings course at Saving Lives Academy gives acute care clinicians the practical skills to use point-of-care lung ultrasound (LUS) at the bedside with confidence.
Participants learn to recognise the key signs of pneumothorax, pleural effusion, pneumonia and pulmonary oedema, and to apply structured protocols such as the BLUE protocol to the breathless patient.
With supervised scanning on real patients and teaching from internationally recognised experts, the course turns lung ultrasound theory into a skill you can use on your next shift.
